Advice on selling high end

I have a 2013 UD Greats Michael Jordan auto /45 BGS 9.5

What would be my best option for selling? I'm really nervous about doing a Paypal deal due to someone could file a chargeback. I don't want to do EBay myself. I have an account but I don't normally sell high priced items there and just feel a lot could go wrong.
Yet if I go to a show and try to move it I know a dealer would not be able to pay the best because they would have to make money

The options I can think of are reaching out to a dealer about consigning at a show or at their LCS or sending to a auction house that sells on eBay? Maybe if I reach out to a dealer that sells at Dallas they can sell at their table for a fee?

I know some guys here have been in this same situation and wanted to see what you found the best option was

I’m guessing value to be around what, $15-20k? if I ever had a card worth that much to sell (or buy for that matter), I would just fly out to the person.

There are some pretty decent eBay consigners who have a descending fee the higher the card goes. I know DC Sports 87 gives you 90% if the card sells from 1-5K. If your card goes over 5K it's 97% -$300. BGS 9 did near 4K a few days ago so the 9.5 could definitely get over 5K. I'm sure there are many members who have dealt through other eBay consigners and could give suggestions. eBay auction is going to give you the most eyeballs of any platform, and not get buried by larger cards like it may via auction house.

I know selling on eBay is convenient, but I sure wouldn't sell the card on anything less than a premier auction... or the Dallas show consignor idea sounds fine.

Then there's the fact and risk on sending the card to these consigners and auction houses. Nothing is safe or secure.

I would be selling through a big consignor. Or list on Instagram and have them pickup at a safe place. I bought a Ducati 959 Corse couple days ago, the owner didn't want to give his home address until the day of pickup. And on Facebook, or Instagram, you can check their profiles. Last resort is at card shows, but most likely will not pay the full amount you want. A lot of them will do trade/cash for your MJ. Good luck.

If you're patient, I would do just locally and accept straight up cash. Avoids all the risk of shipping it and charge backs, (but you risk your life with a gun hold up =P). I sold my Pujols Bowman Refractor RC Auto locally all in hard cash. I didn't want to deal w/all the risks and avoid the taxes incurred.

These days, it'll be impossible to avoid the 1099 form and taxes since all money transaction platforms records it.

If eBay, try using mc_Sportscards or Rick/probstein. Or consign to pwcc for their weekly auction. or if you are in no rush, heritage or goldin is an option.
