Love that Melo. That MJ is not too shabby either.

Interesting, I thought Carmelo Anthony played outside the classic Fleer Ultra era.

How many variations were there of the SP Spectaculars?

There was definitely Ultra in his rookie year (LeBron Lucky 13...). Gold medallion RCs at 1:12 were harder to hit than veterans which were 1:1, though there were only 25 of them. No odds for Platinums. And that is a nice, clean looking card.

The MJ is pretty cool too.

That is a sweet design, from when I took a hiatus from cards. But I remember the original, it was baseball first. I always enjoyed the gold or occasionally platinum medallion. Once every box maybe some low numbered parallel and an insert or two. But rarely bought whole boxes.

What was really incredible was how quality each card felt coming out of the pack. Tactile wise, could never decide between that or Black Diamond.

Thanks, I'm a sucker for ultra platinums. I wish the 03s had a more "platinum background".
