Wait, this is a thing?

Isn’t the sealing press a several thousand dollar machine?

There’s a couple of back alley ways to do it, as everything else in this life.

You can buy the slabs from eBay in bulk

https://www.ebay.com/itm/28441639195...gAAOSwvUlhHoG-

Even HGA doesn't have an ultrasonic welder like the link below. Guess they are too expensive for even them. They use acrylic glue and so can you with these slabs.

https://www.dizoultrasonic.com/psa-d...987809478.html

So for about $250 you can get the slabs shipped to you and some acrylic glue and become a professional grader.

Alright, so a little googling and all I can find is that PSA, SGC and BGS/BVG use ultrasonic welders. So everyone else uses glue or just snaps them together?

Why would anyone buy those if there is no way to guarantee they are not resealed? Also, the more I read up on it, the more it seems that the software used in these is sketchy as all get out….

OP, what exactly are you doing? Making fake TPG cards?

I plan on doing a few “fake slabs” in a psaframe of some Braves WS memorabilia. If it’s for personal use and enjoyment, I see no issue with it.

I think everyone is assuming the worst here. I have thought about buying a bunch of slabs like this for my PC. The slabs you can buy are just as cheap as one touches at the moment, and you can put labels in them. You don't need the labels to have grades and rip people off, but this is where we are at in the grading world.

I bought a couple of slabs to do this and made custom labels in Photoshop but ultimately I decided one touch mag cases are a better option for PC

One touches with a recessed top for a sticker label would be amazing! I am surprised no one has done this yet.

I have done One Touches with using a shipping label (pretty gold one that looks similar to BGS labels). Here is what I what I thought the neat part was. You can wrap the label over the top. This helps the One-Touch from not accidently coming apart. I spaced out the printing on the label so that the top line that is on the top edge of the one touch is just a small card identifier like "90T #55 Griffey". The rest of the label has full details which shows up on the front like normal. The top edge label helped to pick through the cards when you had them all stored in 5-row monster box.

Great idea, all slabs should be like this IMO.

I’m not quite as nefarious as a lot of you seem to think. I figured instead of paying hga 15 bucks a pop to slab my pc, I’ll just do it myself.

This is a really interesting idea...I had no idea that these things were out there and if everything is entirely for the PC, it does sound appealing on many levels.

Which blank slabs did you buy and what are the quality? Really thinking about doing this with my Smits auto/mem collection.
