Default How to separate cards that are stuck together

Sorry if this topic has been addressed prior, I tried to conduct a forum search to find options but didn't come up with anything.

What approach do you guys recommend for trying to prepare cards to pull apart that may be stuck together?
I've heard of the freezer approach to try and separate cards and limit/prevent damage, but I was curious to know if anyone else has any other tricks that have worked in prior attempts.

I have a 1997 Playoff Absolute Gold Star redemption set coming in the mail, and the seller mentioned that cards are stuck together from sitting for so long.
My fingers are crossed that the damage won't be extensive, but I'm not sure what to expect.

Freezer approach has worked for me. I'd put in a ziplock bag first so help prevent moisture.

Thank you! I think that's the route I'll take for them.
The cards are in a card box issued by Playoff, so I may double grocery bag the box, and then put it into a garbage bag to prevent anything from happening.

unfortunately, if the cards are heavily bricked and have been stuck together for years, you are out of luck. I have plenty of experience with this.

But it won't hurt to try.

Can't go wrong with a SawzAll, if Heavily Bricked.

Wild guess but I don't think this ends well for this account

For an anti-climatic yet good ending, the package came in and I found that the set actually wasn't stuck together after all like the eBay description stated.
The surface and condition for the cards were actually REALLY clean. I think the seller copy and pasted the description from a recent posting from another seller on eBay I found.

The one card I was after OF COURSE was one of only a couple that had a visible blemish (lower left corner), but it's going in the PC with my other gold star redemption's.

I'm going to need you to test this on 1994 Playoff for me.
