Default How much money did you waste on Kevin Porter Jr. cards?

People thought he was good for a minute

If you bought anything during his rookie season you're probably still up. If you bought during his rookie season and sold when he was traded you made a killing.

Fortunately none, but I still have some Chronicles and other cards I pulled that I couldn't quite get out the door during the boom, now I'm stuck with them.

Spent about $400 but thank goodness I sold most of it for about $2000 over the last year.

still have about $100 in prizm rookies. Wasn't really paying much attention to him and got burned.

You probably could’ve omitted “Kevin” and just generalized it to all Porter Jr.s

Seems pretty decent for a 21 year old who has about 50 games in his career where he's gotten minutes and he's been on bottom 3 teams his entire career so far. He's still averaged about 15/6/4 when he's gotten minutes. I've seen a lot of guys who were much worse at 21 and became All Stars

He’s clearly a good basketball player. That part is obvious.

The problem is that he’s severely lacking maturing and emotional intelligence. Tough to overcome now that he’s had another outburst on a different team

ITT: cubic zirconia hand group therapy.

Remember, you don't lose til you sell.

Word on the streets is the NRA will be launching a trade-in program for raw KPJ bass once he announces his candidacy for mayor of Third Ward. The TV Johnny regime has clearly run its course.

Guns n' butta, baby.

+1 I was buying a lot of base for $.99 with free shipping right after he got traded. Then scored a lot of great deals on low-numbered rookie cards especially Optic, sold all of it around April when he had that 50 point game. I was going to buy more KPJs, but his price was too high so I focused on other cheap rookies. I still own a lot of base KPJs

None and sold everything I pulled. Wasn't because I didn't believe in the kid but at the time I had tunnel vision for Luka and was trying to complete some rainbows so i didn't care much to prospect that years rookie class. Just took advantage of the high prices on that years class and sold them all. Prices were way too high on the singles back then. Got rid of a bunch of base of guys like Zion, Coby White, Alexander Walker, KPJ, Kyle Guy, Bol Bol, Rui, etc etc. Kept Ja Morant.

I still have them all. Close to 200 rookies, including 1/1s. I was going to sell but never pulled the trigger.

Bought some sold some bought some.
It was mostly numbered stuff.
Didn't cost that much and never got much for it.

So you're telling me that people in Canada were buying Porter Jr from your shop but never Griffey Jr at all?

I scooped up one ssp raw Mosaic base rookie parallel right after last season ended. The price was very decent, and his prices were a little depressed at that moment. Sent it to HGA for grading (9.5) and got it back just in time for the offseason hype train. Sold it for double what I was all-in for.

Nice little in-and-out. Needless to say, not touching him again.

I bought one hoops premium green cracked ice for around $5 a few months ago. Perhaps I should have just bought another Ja base card instead.

just took a quick look. My total "spend" was around $1300, most of which was allocations from rips/breaks, and grading fees. total sales was around $3400. all I have left is an HPS gold pulsar, and stuff in completed sets (Prizm Silver/Base/RWB, Chronicles, HPS, Mosaic, Revolution). I never researched him much but his game seemed extremely raw and I always thought the hype/pricing was too high for there to be any room left on risk/reward.

funny enough, my figures for MPJ are very similar. I still have a couple of his autos lying around though
