Retail Hoarders and Extortion

It really bothers me that I don't have a LCS near me. So I have typically have to buy retail. Since I can't get to the store the day they restock inventory, I generally don't get the mega boxes. Any ideas on how to get a box or two without having to camp out at the stores and race those turds who buy them all and then post them on ebay at twice the retail prices? Just curious. If my post bothers, then you're probably one of the turds I'm referring to.

How do you feel about people who buy them all and the open them? Just curious on your thoughts

The hoarders are wannabe distributors. They are on a smaller scale. Unfortunately fair market retail is not always fair unless you are buying Topps Big League/Opening day which is almost always guaranteed to be on the shelf

It's nearly impossible to find basketball at retail 'round here -- just vacant spaces where it used to be. Really sucks if you just want rip a little bit.

Even Hoops and Donruss are gone within a few days of stocking.

Series 1 Blasters and hangers? Also gone within a day or two of stocking.

Horders and flippers...sucks for those who want to just rip. They're not wrong, I'm not judging, it just sucks.

Your best bet is to know the online retailer market and be ready to fire when something you want is available at a fair price. It’s pretty cutthroat but if you’re vigilant you can find ok deals here and there. Except for basketball. Forget it.

If you have a job, you probably won't be able to do this. There are people hitting the refresh button every 15 seconds, 24 hours a day, beating you to the available merchandise.

Distributors now know that collectors will pay 3 times MSRP for a product on the basketball side so why wouldn't they keep it up. Retail basketball you should just give up on looking for it and buy it from Blowout or ebay. Just give up, you aren't going to find it. Topps I can usually always find Topps Series 1 fat packs or blasters so i'm golden there but I know it's going to be insane trying to find mega boxes of Bowman.

It will slow, but you’re kidding yourself if you think it will even return to 2018 levels. Do you think Prizm Hobby will suddenly be $120 again? Hell no. It will be $225-$250 out the gate. And retail will sell for 50 to 100 percent markups because it will all get scooped up again.

I was going to say, just buy hobby online. There are other large LCS's that peg their prices to blowout as well.

Everyone should all get an equal amount of all products. And the cost should be shared by all. Also, each box should come with its own trophy included so everyone feels special after opening. Finally, to be fair, all manufacturers should make sure there is a cut Babe Ruth auto in every case. It isn’t fair that someone gets to pull one, and everyone else doesn’t.

Extortion give me a break. It's simple supply and demand. I work and can only get to Walmart and Target on the weekend. I've gotten lucky sometimes and sometimes not. I'm sure the OP sells his cards at below market value to be fair to everyone. It's called free market capitalism and it's what makes the United States the greatest country in the world. Quit being a baby it's sports cards stop whining because you didn't get any Optic this weekend.

I'll say I do have one Target I have a shot at hitting sometimes....because it's 10-15 minutes from any freeway (so not highly hit hunters' routes), yet also close to home. Good god I'm depraved.

I’ll admit that I buy up what I can when I see it for product that I want. If you went to a card show, And someone was selling three bat down Acuna’s for $25 each, Are you telling me that you would not buy them all?
