Default Why do the lakers get prime time playoff games?

The Lakers don’t have any early games in the first round. They play the third or last game each night. I listened to the Bucks game at 12:30 pm local on Tuesday so I am curious why the west coast teams get to play later. Yes, I understand that their viewership is in the pacific time zone but the noon central nfl games come on at 10 a.m. out there. Why can’t an east coast team have a late game?

East coast viewership drops off after 10pm EST. Plus LA is a top market. Bucks probably have what, the 30th ranked market.

It's also just historically they get the prime time games... a business decision.

Follow the money. The most popular games go in the late time slot.

Lebron, Lillard, and Luka.

NFL games that have a 10am pacific start are on the weekend.

Why do the defending Champs get stuck with afternoon starts?

Same reason the Cavs used to get Primetime spots and Sunday Spots.

It starts with "Le" and ends with "Bron"

Each conference essentially has 1 game starting around 1PM local time (Pacific/Eastern) and another starting at 6PM local time, seems fair enough. The real question IMO is why they're giving the later billing to Miami Pacers half the time over the Bucks - probably they expect that series to be a fairly easy one for Milwaukee (just like they're doing with Toronto)?

Ask yourself this, why do top players always want to go to the lakers to play? Then you’ll get your answer.
