Default Prospecting? when is enough, enough

Just curious as to when you decide if your stash is large enough. What are your thoughts?

For me thats when you have plenty of the same cards and they start to rise in price. Im not interested to buy a card that I have 40-50+ copies at 1.5 or 2x the price I paid and I already have alot of them.

What is this word "enough?" I've never heard of such a word.

No offense, but that doesn't even qualify as a stash for hardcore prospectors. They'd call that the starting line.

For me, enough only refers to the amount of prospects I'm stockpiling. It is too easy to find a new guy to get overly optimistic and excited about. I try to limit who I add to my target list. But for the guys I buy, I buy and buy and buy. Granted it is easier with my prospecting strategy because I focus on high quantity of lower end cards. For every refractor auto of a guy, I have 50-100 chrome base non-auto.

I own 350 Luis Robert RCs, only a few high end though. I have 10 of his 2018 bowman chrome and 25 of his Topps. A few autos from packs. I never buy autos on ebay, just base RCs and few serial numbered cards.

Set a monthly budget of how much you can afford to spend. remember this is not a sprint. yes there will always be cards you miss. If you want to do this long term and stay positive and not get burned out. My advise is to stick to what you can afford. which players you want to allocate with your budget is the fun part.

If they hit, I hate myself for not buying more, when they go bust, I hate myself for buy that one single card. Currently? I bought 4 Sixto Sanchez 1st Bowman autos (base raw, /499 PSA 10, /150 PSA 10, and /99 BGS 9.5) and I’m kicking myself for the ones I passed on. I also have one Jesus Sanchez 1st Bowman auto PSA 10 and that feels like a lot.
