Default LeBron market falling?

Is something going on with the market that LeBron items just are not popular anymore? I've relisted a UD LeBron patch on Ebay 6 times!!! Each time I have gotten a non-paying bidder. Just seems like I cannot get rid of this patch for the life of me.

It's only been 12 hours since that last listing ended...maybe you should give these people time to pay?

Also, I don't think LBJ market is falling. The market in general falls a percentage during this phase of the year just before training camp.

Even if the market for LBJ was actually falling, it has nothing to do with non paying bidders.

The guy sent me an email and claimed his account was "hacked". This is the 4th time someone has said that to me. The other 2 just didn't pay, not much to wait on at that point.

Not sure about the card you're selling, but his Exquisite (NBA license) prices are rising.

I've been wanting a LeBron Exquisite auto for ages and every time I see a card I want it sells for $100 more than the last time.

I've therefore spent over $1,000 getting the card I want.

Meanwhile, his Chronology Timeless Memories card (which I once owned and paid $150 for) now sells for $1,800. Less than a year ago it sold for less than $1,000.

So I think it depends on the card/product/set.

It's definitely not dropping but it also might depend on the card. His Cavs uni autos seem to be on the rise. I bought my one and only Lebron auto last year. 05-06 SP Authentic jersey auto, bought it for around $200 I think it was. One ended earlier this week for $700.

Just checked his TC refractor market:

03-04 raw selling for $1500+
04-05 raw selling for $200.

I wouldnt say falling.

Maybe a little bit off the peak that was set in April when the Cavs looked like they might win another title, but off season has a lot to do with it.

I feel like I just clicked on one of those internet articles that follow Betteridge's law of headlines, "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

His market isn't falling - his recent auto sale prices alone are clear indicators.

It's hard to pay the current prices for someone who will likely never win an NBA championship again. It happens to the best of them - Isaiah Thomas, James worthy, Clyde drexler, etc.

People start to lose interest when a player's career has peaked and his cards start to soften - it's natural.

i think his market wont be as crazy as it was when he won the championship. We are in a Warriors dynasty now and i think most agree that lebron is a long shot to beat the warriors next year few years as long as durant and curry are healthy.

It's foolish to compare Lebron to those players.

I think most kids these days are more interested in buying cards of more exciting players like Wiggins, Kat, porzingis, etc. Lebron is more like your daddy's favorite player - not very interesting and on the downhill side of his career.

Twenty years from now, brons cards will be forgotten like other greats such as pippen, Karl Malone, and John Stockton, much like football had Montana, Marino and elway - great players of a previous generation, but not long lasting and historic like Jordan. Only the old fogies will be looking for Lebron cards - like those single, fat old geriatric dudes smelling up the card shows.

Wow. I don't even know if you are serious or not. Lebron, by the end of his career, could be 1st all time in scoring and at least the 2nd greatest player of all time. (That's not even counting all of the other catagories). Nobody will forget about him. You cannot compare any of those players to lebron.

I disagree with this quite strongly.

LeBron is generally regarded as a top 5 player of all-time (unlike Malone, Stockton, etc) and is very popular worldwide. Even without winning any more championships, his legacy could/should still grow as he potentially breaks some all-time records.

Meanwhile, his NBA autographs were only made between 2003 and 2009, so you'll see those cards increase in value each year as collectors want a LeBron auto for their collection but supply is so limited.

Now if he was signing crap mass produced cards for Panini (like Kobe does) then it might be a different story. Mind you, Kobe's Upper Deck autos continue to sell for high prices.

TLDR: Panini sucks. LeBron doesn't.

Agree with willC

Even for the GOAT MJ, if his autos are still produced , the price won't be as high as it is now

Wilt chamberlain auto cont to appreciate, he won't win any more title ever, top 5 greatest for sure
Only has less than 500 certified autos ever produced and lots of them has faded auto

Lmao about the fat geriatric dudes at card shows!!!

So true

I think LeBron autos will at least retain their value but I do agree they will not have anywhere near the staying power of MJ Autos.

MJ auto cards are probably more sought after than any other professional athlete

And with no more being made the skys the limit, especially on his 90s playing days autos like SPx, SOTT, Jersey Autos, Season Tickets, Court Commemorative, etc

While they remain in demand I honestly do not think LeBron Autos are even as closely sought after as MJS

Not even close

MJ > Bron

Everyone knows that, even the Bron nuthuggers.

Having said that, there is no way that Bron fades into the collecting abyss the way that 99% of the 80's superstars have.

BOOK IT!

Not only is it not falling, but for a man like Lebron, every single day that you don't invest in his market, you LOSE $ and RESPECT. Lebron James is a proven winner. Lebron James continues to drag worthless carcasses to the NBA finals where he would happily be 9-0 if people didn't keep stacking teams against him. Lebron James is loyal to his teammates. Lebron James makes everyone better that he comes into contact with. He turns communities around and makes the world a better place to live. I didn't even see players like Drexler, Isiah, Malone, or Ewing play but don't mention that filth in the same sentence as Lebron James. Lebron James is a man amongst boys. Lebron James!

Lebron was given a billion dollar shoe deal because he has no lasting star power. Nike knew it first. Lmao

I bought 2 Lebron cards this morning and per sold listings they have went up 75% since 10:42am today. I'll probably buy 3 tomorrow and maybe 4 on Monday.
