Default eBay - Autopayment

I believe this has been asked before - so I apologize in advance - but I want to approach it from a different angle

Is there a way to know which sellers require immediate (60 minute) payment?

I'm not worried about paying, I pay for what I buy, but I like to accumulate 5-10 cards sometimes to get over $99 and use PayPal credit for 6 months

It's becoming impossible to do so because I don't know who I have to pay right away

It's significantly changing how I bid on lower end cards and I'd like to keep buying to keep those sellers happy

Thoughts?

I like the auto payment when I sell. It's a massive improvement

I hate the autopay, if you submit an offer and its accepted its impossible to use PPC. Also I got a notification from paypal that starting Dec. 3rd in order to get the no interest for 6 months special financing will now be on purchases of $149 or more.

I'm not asking as a seller - that's why I started the thread - as a buyer how do I know?

I'm happy to pay but I don't want to pay for every $10 card individually. I want to group them together to get over $99

If I can't get over $99? Sellers are going to lose business from me. I'll simply stop bidding

I'm honestly not sure if there is a way to tell prior to placing a bid.

Absolutely! Now, if the seller counters and you accept their offer you can choose to pay with PPC, so frustrating. That 6 months no interest is a great tool.

I figured as much - I bid mostly from my phone and haven't been able to tell - was hoping I was missing something

I absolutely get why some sellers like it

But I'm going to stop bidding on random $10-$20 cards if I can't package them together... unless I really want them... those $10 cards are just the candy at the register that I get sucked into knowing I have 6 months to pay them off

So while no one cares it will limit my buying personally

Yep - I use it for everything I can

I love to bundle up 5-6 cards at $10-25 a piece and pay them off later

That's dead now for all intents and purposes unless you can tell who requires what

My bad I did not know you returned welcome back!

I don't know what PPC means. I will say as a buyer it makes it seamless for a transaction. As a seller beautiful transaction. I see no issue

I don't think this is true.

I don't think some smaller sellers realize how much business they're likely losing by requiring auto-pay.

I don't require auto-pay and run a couple specific deals for my cheaper items that require bundling payment from your cart.

I don't think non-payment is a large enough issue, at least in my experience, to require auto-pay.

I'm explaining the issue

PayPayl credit allows a buyer to finance a purchase over $99 for 6 months

Tons of us use it. You package 5-15 purchases together when you buy lower end stuff

Now? I have no interest in buying lower end stuff if I have to pay individually

So it's a huge issue for some folks

Gotcha.

Still talking about it as a wider scope, I don't think a lot of sellers realize requiring auto-pay actually hurts them.

Dig it

Avoid PayPal credit at all costs

I'm happy you are back. Where's Frenzy?

Agreed

Autopay is going to definitely bit some folks in the backside when they realize the business they are losing

I don't sell that much, and higher end stuff I get I suppose where you want paid quickly, but this is going to really hurt some people that sell all types of mid range items

I have no idea where you got this from

PPC is awsome

Sellers need to realize this

They offer no interest financing that converts to 20% interest rate

Maybe you could ask the sellers who have multiple cards you are interested in if they are part of that program. If they are, explain your problem and see if they will turn it off for you.....I have not opted into that program, but if asked I would certainly turn it off while you made your purchases. If they have not opted into the autopay program, you are set with that seller.

Found this on the eBay community site. I tried it on an item as test and this checked out.

It's usually not one seller - although that's a good point

I'm talking 5-10 cards from 5-10 different sellers

If you add them all to your cart you can still get the 6 months

I think there are a lot of sellers that aren't savvy enough to know how to do this. Multiply that by however many sellers you're trying to purchase from.
