I guess a test to see if ebay reaches more people than posting an On Demand set on their own web site? It's basically the same deal.

It’s odd Topps is using eBay versus their own site since I assume they’d have fees per order, but maybe their system is down or the credit card processing fees are nearly the same as ebays fees?

How is it lame? If they're the same images from the Card Trader app, these are really nice looking cards.

That’s one of the fascinating things about this. Plus no volume discounts.

There are many people that never go to Topps.com, but collect Star Wars cards.
This is a way to market to those people. They are paying fees instead of paying marketing costs.
Breakers do this all the time by selling on their site and listing on eBay to bring in new customers.

eBay has been promoting trading cards with the manufacturers this year. Started with a magazine mailed out in the Spring.

Topps, Cryptozoic, and Rittenhouse have all had exclusives this year.

My guess is eBay is trying to get them to make it a regular thing and is either promoting the sets gratis or is giving them discounted fees for being exclusive.

Apparently non-sport has become important to eBay this year.

2,343 sets sold as of this post. That number was around 1,300 on 11/30.

Based on the Purchase History, most people are buying just a single set. I see one user bought 25, another bought 10, and there are a few who bought 2 or 3 sets.

Ugly cards that will never be worth a dime. Yet this post stays active from resellers.

15 replies in 5 days isn't really that active... are you saying resellers are posting here to drive fake interest?

I'm baffled as to why people think these cards look bad? The artwork is bright and well done.

Based on his/her post here and in the MW thread, I think someone woke up in a bad mood. I took 30 seconds to read over all 15 posts and there is nothing remotely close to anyone trying to pump this up for reselling. And I also agree, this thread is far from active.

Set has a cool 50's sci-fi look to them. I dunno. Picked up 2 sets.

Is there somewhere where you can see more of or all the cards in this set? I liked that artwork style when it was used on some other products earlier this year. I forget where the products were available but I remember a lunchbox or pint glass with that art style I think?

The Star Wars Card Trader app.

The design is modeled after the original Mars Attacks set.

If you go to 'categories' on eBay and head to the non sports trading cards section they have a picture there with two other cards from the set.

Did Topps Vault stop selling actual items from their vault?

I'm a huge fan of the old Mars Attacks series.

To see Topps put out a limited Mandalorian set with the same art style has me pumped. Ordered three sets. One for me and two for Christmas gifts to friends who are Star Wars buffs.

Don't care about the long-term value or the sales mechanics. I'll let other people argue about those things. These cards should turn out beautiful and be fun to share as gifts for a very reasonable price.
