Default Have you ever submitted an offer, just to hit BIN b/c you don't want to miss out?

Big PC card came up on eBay BIN OBO. Submitted an offer of over 75% of asking price. Probably not an hour passed and I had to hit BIN. Hadn't ever seen this card on eBay, couldn't let it get away!

I'm guessing it was the Marcus Morris 2012 Prizm Gold

Yeah I've done it a few times. Usually when it's a rare card I really want.

Almost did this earlier today. It wasnt Marcus Morris though. Lol. The paranoia kicked in almost immediately. Luckily the seller(s) were quick enough to accept the offer. In the back of my head I'm like hoping they deny or counter withing the hour and not let the offer ride out the full day or so allowed making me think should I just hit the BIN?

Happens a lot when I go for 1/1s. My brain convinces me someone else is going to snatch it up so I hit BIN. Can take as long as 30 minutes and as little as 2.

yes, and it usually happens when long sought after cards of my players finally pop up after years and I don't want to take the risk to wait again for a long time maybe

For sure. Sitting on offers can be scary simply because you never know when a lone wolf BIN hitter will come along. Just because the card has been sitting for 5 days, a week, several, doesn't mean the BIN couldn't be hit.

Yes, I experienced the two sides: making an offer and then somebody hit the BIN, making an offer and then hit the BIN myself.

Last year with the Aaron judge craze I listed a topps now card for whatever the last sale was, think 28.99, guy offers 26.99, somebody else hits the buy it now

Original offer guy trying to save 2.00 messages saying he would pay 40, I tell him I have to follow through with the sale, he offers 50 I tell him again I have to sell it to the guy that hit bin. Then messages me a handful of times about how he has been wanting that card for weeks and that Its my fault that he didn’t buy it because I listed it with best offer

Quite often yea. Sometimes I try and offer to get a better deal as the bin eats into profit but id rather have some profit than none.

In your case for a pc card this is a no brainer and I've done this with pc cards as well. Congrats on your long awaited pickup!

I’ve hit the BIN button many times after placing an offer, usually 1/1 cards or if something pops up that I need for my PC.

Big Spurs collector. At the time, I didn’t have a Duncan Chrome RC. Decided firmly to get one. Offer $15 on eBay where one was listed at $20. 5 min later just decided to BIN.

Duncan inexplicably retired a week later.

I do this pretty often unless the card is just ridiculously priced. I'd rather overpay then wait a year plus for another to show up.

Thanks for the replies everyone! When it's a rarer PC card priced fairly, gotta hit the BIN, can't let it get away. The Pinnacle Clear Vision Overtime /5 Parallels, I've definitely paid $30+ for cards that'd go under $5 in auction format.

I did that with this card on COMC:

It popped up and I offered like 80% and waiting probably about 5 minutes before I said screw it, it's a 1 of 1 and then snapped it up for full price. Totally worth it too not to miss out on a card you want for a few bucks.

Great looking card Luni, congrats.

I take a similar approach, and when I would rather have the card over the same amount in cash, that convinces me to use buy it now.

I’ll submit an offer to see if he has auto accept at that price. If not I usually lose patience right away and BIN

Believe it or not there is a decent collectors group for Tobias Harris and the three cards below I had to have for my pc. I remember offering and then thinking what is the point of saving 20-100$ if I will never see them again? I know there are several overseas collectors who acquire him and the cards just never reappear so I just bit the bullet and hit the bin.
What is funny is I will get a text, email, or PM asking if I purchased certain cards.. like they are tracking where they all go in case I am ever selling lol!

A Harris Logoman/RC Logoman & NT RPA /5 are the only real grails I am looking for now.. They have had 1 product with a logoman in it after his rookie year.. and I missed it so its kind of a pain so I got the absolute tag.. kinda close... Can't figure out how they don't have more as he has been on so many teams!
Very curious to see these sneek peak, laces, tounge cards from Immaculate b/c that is the only other thing I could possibly want.

^^^very nice...…...I am far from having F$%^ You money, but I have been known to: see it, like it, buy it without submitting any offers.
