Default Sunday morning mowing lawn etiquette?

So I'm trying to beat the heat this morning and mow the grass before it gets too hot or rain in the evening. My question is, is 7am too early? I hate to bother my neighbors and even I would want to sleep in too on weekends. Can't find the info on my HOA or the city ordinances.

If I get no replies, I'll probably crank it up around 8am or else I'll fall back to sleep

As long as the sun is up and it's bright, it's your lawn.

I would check with your local city ordinances and even your HOA rules as well. While I personally don't think it is too early, the city here has noise ordinances that limit weekend mowing to 8am to 8pm. Sad thing is they enforce that here, but they won't enforce it on cars that come through at 2 in the morning with their stereos blaring and the base thumping..

You 1%'ers and your lawns. The most I have is a 3x3 patch of grass outside.

I am an early riser. Fools are lucky if I wait until seven.

I go by this as well, 8 am is a nice respectable starting time.

I usually go by the old "you can't call your friends house until 9am" adage when making noise outside on the weekends.

9am. Just because it's your lawn doesn't mean the sound doesn't travel beyond it.

As a second shifter, I don't get home until 0130. After winding down and getting 6 hours of sleep it is usually no earlier than 9:00am. This morning, I woke up at 10:30, but I had broken sleep. I would just get to know your neighbors and work around that as best you can.

Yep, some of us even enjoy it! Whipping around on my zero turn for an hour and doing something yourself feels pretty good.

I enjoy projects around the house but anyone can mow a lawn. My time is far more valuable than the cost of paying someone to mow and clean up.

My neighbor will keep me up until 4am with his parties, so I like to get am early 6am cut in as soon as the sun rises. I usually spend some extra time priming the engine as well.

it depends on how old you are, if i look outside and its a 12 year old kid i would let it go and think "hes to young to know better". If i look outside and see a teenager "that kids a virgin, must have no life on weekends". If i look outside and see a person in his 25-45yr old ," that guy has thick skin and is ignorant" . if its a senior citizen "meh, old guy".

lol

Sounds like you may need an old muscle car as well to rev up early in the morning. Loud and rattles the house a little.

I guess it depends on the size of the lawn. Takes me roughly 30 minutes a week to mow, edge and blow. Then I actually get started on the yard
