My 10th Contenders 1/1 Rookie Auto Arrives!

Talk about one hell of an awesome mail day. This was a Contenders 1/1 rookie auto that I was so thrilled to see on eBay a couple of weeks back. Prior to owning it, this was the 1/1 Contenders Champ Ticket from the Manning era that sat atop my want list for years. I remember seeing it when it first hit the market many years ago, only to miss out on it. I was thinking I might never see it again. I was beyond thrilled to work out a deal to get it. After looking closely at my PC, I realized it was the 10th Contenders 1/1 Rookie auto in my Colts PC! Below are all of them...

Dallas Clark and Marlin Jackson are easily my two favorite Contenders 1/1 autos since both are such special players in Colts history.

I was able to snag the Kenton Keith and Ed Johnson within a few months of each other. The Delone Carter was a pickup from this past year. Jerry Hughes was acquired thanks to a member here who had it up for sale.

Jack Doyle is definitely my favorite from the dreaded Ryan Grigson era. I hope someday to find the other version. Bryan Bennett and Zack Hodges were gobbled up by me once I saw them for sale.

Awesome, awesome stuff. Impeccable timing about the Garcon earlier, haha. It's always awesome seeing great Colts mail!

Obviously, I love the Dallas/Doyle/Marlin. Those are soooo sweet, but you should really be at 8, since you were able to get the best of me on the Hodges and Bennett before we knew each other! Haha

At first I thought the Marlin was the new one and I couldn't figure out how I missed it. And then I wondered how long you've had it and when I did actually miss it. These cards are awesome!

Thanks, man! Yeah, the Marlin came to be mine a few months back. Paid a pretty penny, but well worth it.

Thanks! The 2010 set really has a great look to it. It has the classic ticket design and a pretty clean overall look.

That's pretty damn awesome. Those older 1/1 card are so tough to come by. It's incredible you randomly found it and for such a great price. I'd love to have that happen with some of the older Colts scrub 1/1 rookies.
