I have a two part question for anyone who may be able to help.
1. I bought a 1988 Fleer Rc of Reggie Miller PSA graded. I received it today and thought the grade was off one way or the other. I won't reveal which way yet but would be curious to hear from these pics what you think it should grade. Pics aren't perfect but I will try to point out what I see. ![]() ![]() ![]() Some White below the RE in Reggie's name. (Other marks around Reggie's face are just from the case.) Some color on the bottom of the card. Kind tough to get a good pic of it in the holder. It runs a little on the bottom of the card. Accidentally cut off the last picture of the back of the card but there is some white next to 19141 but corners are sharp and centering looks to be pretty good. 2. I purchased this Michael Jordan to be graded and it just looked to good to me. Centering is a little off but everything else was pretty damn clean with it. Back of the card I was afraid may have been 2 dark of an orange? It just looks so different from the Miller. There is some discoloring slightly around the corners of the back I guess also. Any thoughts on if it could be a reprint? ![]() ![]() Last edited by ballahollic2; 09-11-2016 at 01:18 AM. |

If you are going after a 9.5 on the Reggie don't send it in.
I have owned over 200pcs of Reggie RC over the years your bgs grade on this card will come back 8 or 8.5 max. Take the card out and check the front in say natural day light by tilting it left to right and up and down to see if they're more surface blemishes. Cheers |

It's hard to tell what's the color difference and what's just the change in angle in the pics, but I leaf'd through the set I have and there was a noticeable difference from the lightest to the darkest.

Thanks to both of you guys for your responses! As far as the Reggie goes it was a PSA 9.
![]() Itsaboutcards I completely agree with your assessment though. Maybe PSA grades a lot easier? but I thought this particular card looked like a PSA 8 at best. Just from the color near the bottom of the card if nothing else. It also had some of those random scuff marks throughout. Seemed like a very generous grade to me. PDXBLUE I appreciate you looking through your set. I should have scanned both the Miller and the Jordan instead of scanning the Jordan and taking a phone image pic of the Reggie. I will say that those colors are pretty close though to how it looks in person for each. I had noticed a substantial color difference between the two cards where the Jordan was almost a pink color and the Miller looked to be more orange but it is good to hear that there is a noticeable difference between cards in the set. The Jordan's I have seen graded online do look to be brighter and pink in general. It is always impossible to tell in images but that I figured was a good sign that the color seemed to match mine on for the most part or at least appeared to be close. |
