It’s been an interesting arc for this product since it’s inception to the current.
The 2001 release was absolute fire for the day it released with the multiple Ichiro/Pujols cards and those retrofractors.
Starting in 2013?- A cool little late season retail only afterthought with no autos for the first handful of years including the paper/chrome combo early years.
The huge organic retail chase for Acuna/Soto cards in 2018- maybe one of the best ever.
The huge downfall overall from a fun low risk ROI rip that has gone through a ton of format and parallel change yoy that may epitomize the essence of my dissatisfaction with how Topps (and now Fantatics)has made cards less fun for me in recent years. I like pedigree, history and continuity in my card sets. Similar odds for similar cards over time scratch an OCD itch for me and I like being able to compare similar cards from different years and players without ftard algebra to compute a multiplier.
Now the 1/1 RPA chase has jacked a once favorite product of mine into a laughable price range.
