Downside in the past for me has been sellers that don't have shipping set up to not charge the max rate for each item. You end overpaying shipping because the seller isn't paying attention. Guessing this has gotten better since they added the longer auto pay period though.
It would good if ebay identified you was using autopay and who wasn't.
