Speaking seriously, despite everyone poopoo-ing the importance of batting average, I think that is what ultimately sank Raleigh. The gulf between him and Judge (.331 to .247) was simply too much for some voters to ignore, even if they really wanted to vote for Raleigh. The BA disparity combined with Judge handily clearing Raleigh in most of the hitting stats (OBP, SLG, OPS+, wRC+, etc). If Dumper had hit closer to .270-.280, I think he eeks it out over Judge.
