Some people in here are in the very small minority that still open personal boxes. Most will only open buying at a price well under market value. The vast majority on here only want to buy a product at a guaranteed profit price. They don't want to take any risks.

I think if fair auctions came back most people would want them. Meaning vast majority of the boxes being available. It's that most people are conditioned now to the way Panini has run auctions since late 2021. Panini sells a bunch under the table and nowhere near the full print run is available during the auctions even when most FOTL box counts are under 5000 and only a few are over 10,000 boxes. Go back and look at threads talking about FOTL products from 2019-2021. All the bigger ones had more views, comments, and interest than anything now. That's because the auctions were run fairly. Every normal person could buy and have a decent chance to make money.

Even with manipulated auctions you have a better chance than with Topps/Fanatics. Rookie Royalty WNBA boxes anyone could have bought as much as they wanted the last few drops. If you bought even a few drops from the floor and sold a few days after receiving in hand you made thousands of dollars per box. Not per case. Per box.

Prizm Black FOTL was just released. If you bought within the last couple drops you could have made big money. Well over $5k per case. How many products with Topps can you make $5k per case? One you can't even get the cases. Two even if you hit a needle in a haystack it's 1-2 cases max. With auctions you can buy as much as you want. Regardless of the resale value with Topps/Fanatics you can't get the quantity even if you're lucky enough to get an in demand product.

What is sometimes getting chosen or sometimes getting an order in on topps.com of 3-5 boxes to make at best a few hundred dollars going to do for most people? It's virtually impossible on both systems now to get cases so you're looking at 3-5 boxes max.

With Topps/Fanatics there is also a huge problem currently buying in demand product cases on the secondary market if you want to go that route. For whatever reason most of the in demand Topps products have a pretty big case premium. Unfortunately, Topps seals these with regular tape that anyone could open and reseal with another product or dud boxes. You can buy from the obvious sellers that your risk is minimal but you will have to pay even more and have less chance of making anything worth mentioning.

If you don't want auctions it's because you're too cheap, too stupid, or won't take any risks. With Topps systems now how can anyone not in the 0.01% make any real money?
Long-winded rant ending with insulting the reader as too cheap or stupid.
Very compelling I'm sure. I agree with you. Or sorry for your loss whichever it is.
