Thanks, guys. Like many of you reacted, I was irate that they could show me a 10 grade and "take it away" but apparently it happens more than we know about. It just happened to occur with a min grade card where they did not re-image the card after cracking it out. The point I made to PSA after they made their excuses was that:
1) They claimed that they could not grade a card / assess condition with a card being in a sealed one-touch, even it was clean.
2) This means that both cards were unsealed and the main grader graded both a 10, the cross checkers agreed, then it was slabbed (standard process before slabbing).
3) The "Master Grader" assessed both cads and decided that they were not 10s AFTER they were slabbed - debunking the argument that they can't assess the condition of the card in plastics.
I have had a lot of time to calm my nerves from this experience, but my takeaway was that the "Master Grader" just didn't want to give me a 10. This is why I've been telling you guys that PSA is purposefully grading Sho Rookie cards harder. Irony is that this was just a detail in the middle of an avalanche of process breakdowns.
I have other PSA stories, but this one takes the cake. I like PSA but I really hope they clean this kind of crap up.
Here's the proof to my claim:
