Seems my Shohei recase saga is over. New slab arrived yesterday, and while I am still not 100% happy with the condition of the new slab (still some minor scuffs on the inside sleeve) it is 95% better than the original slab, so I guess I'll just keep it as is. Glad to finally have Shohei back in the house!
FWIW, it took pretty much exactly 25 days from the date they received my slab for recasing to the date it shipped out.
