You can spin around in circles and the card looks like a kaleidoscope flashing 3 or 4 different shapes as the rainbow courses through it. Now if that really isn't your thing that's fine, and I could see where theyre "underwhelming" in the first sort of light (cubics and cosmics IMO look a lot better in that sort of light) but I feel like they are an appropriate amount of "whelming" in the second light. I would challenge anyone's gentlemanly and scholarly credentials who says otherwise. If you want cards that look similar in all situations there are others that fit that niche. These are for learned men with large collections of leatherbound books and discerning tastes. Men who appreciate nuance and don't delight in foppish sets like Prizm or Select.
