Ryne Sandberg (RIP) saying he played the game the right way in his induction speech seems to now be a rallying cry to keep players like Bonds out of the Hall of Fame.
Maybe those players who supposedly played the game the right way have a point, but it's also pretty dumb that an institution dedicated to recognizing the best players to ever play the game doesn't have a player like Bonds in it. He was just too good of a player to keep out. I mean, he didn't get suspended by MLB or have a criminal conviction or anything official. He's actively a part of the game as a hitting coach.
