My dad did the same for me way back when I was around five years old. I started getting them myself after I went off to college. To this day, it's the only card product I buy (although I do get the Update collection as well).
All that to say, congrats to you for the birth of your child, and great job to you for creating something that your son will enjoy the rest of his life.
