Logistically for the show, Chicago is so much better, even though the builidng itself is not the greatest. Mass transit (bus/rail) right by the center and walkable, hotels walkable, dining at all price points walkable, even parking nearby, all right next to a MAJOR airport.
Cleveland used to be better under the pre-COVID IX Convention Center.

Parking and entrance wasn't an issue when 1) less VIPs were sold 2) General Admission parked and entered on the opposite side of the building.

I never remember bathroom issues previously when the IX-Center was bigger.

When the IX-Center was larger, the show was spread out better so it didn't feel as crowded.

I have stayed at the hotels across the street in Rosemont and they always seem over-priced due to the convenience. Cleveland parking is better as my car was usually right outside the entrance and you didn't have to walk forever to put bulky stuff away or wait for over-crowded stairwells and elevators to clear to leave the show. The food by Rosemont is nice, but there isn't fast food right there. I'd rather stay in Middleburgh Heights for the Cleveland show where I have lots of choices for food between that, Berea, and Strongsville.
