I was thinking I might sit out the year with Elly because his prices are so high and I don't like spending a lot of money on current players, particularly early in their careers. I'm not an investor, so I can wait in most cases.

But when I saw the Depths of Darkness cards I thought for sure that would be the card for me to get for Elly. They are amazing, and really give me real 90s vibes and innovation. The problem is they are absurdly priced right now, even for veterans. So for rookie year cards like Elly's, prices are downright obscene.

So I resigned myself to just wait for prices on the Depths of Darkness card for Elly, and have that be my one major card purchase for Elly this year.

Then I saw something else that I just had to have. A card that will be cherished in my collection forever, even if Elly flames out early. I don't want to spill the beans, but just tease you all. I will be sure to post a picture in this thread first when it arrives.
Big mailday today!

Like I said, I never sell my cards and just buy 1 or 2 cards of the players I like each season. And when I saw this, I had to have it. Juan Rosales is an amazing artist and this card is truly a piece of artwork. I'm thrilled for this to be a main part of my Elly collection, and my 2024 Reds collection.
