If his guys hit hot streaks before then and some of their low-end explode in value, he'll be tempted to unload some, but not worth it to him to sell at a minimum gain since he's collecting mostly blue-chip guys anyway. I do think the error in his strategy is shifting to the shiny new toy instead of fortifying those blue-chip collections when the new shiny toy comes around. Buy Elly when Caminero or Spencer Jones (or whoever) is getting all the Hobby love. Right now is a pretty good time to buy Julio if you believe he's going to put up an MVP or two (and that seems pretty likely to me) in the next 4-5 seasons.

Jrod has yet to have an MVP worthy season and with the slow starts each season winning such an award isn’t very likely. Winning MVP in itself isn’t something most players ever will achieve and to say one or two in the next 4-5 years with a ton of competition is pretty bold to say the least.
