Sticking this on the front page:

Never forget that as recently as December 3, 2023, the college football playoff committee gave the finger to the concept of the "making the games matter" and the "integrity" of the regular season.

- Neither Georgia or Ohio State were considered eliminated despite losing clear elimination games against their rivals at the end of the season until the selections were actually in.

- An undefeated P5 conference champion (Florida State) was dropped behind two 1-loss teams (including one from the SEC—a conference the ACC outplayed 6-4 during the season) and left out of the playoffs.

OSU-UM didn't matter because it took Texas winning its conference championship to actually eliminate the Buckeyes.

UGA-BAMA didn't matter because it took the committee ruling against the Bulldogs to actually eliminate them.

None of the games Florida State played (including beating two SEC teams) mattered as they went undefeated and were left out of the playoffs. Regardless of what the FSU-UGA outcome is, the Noles already had their entire season invalidated.
