I am sorry to hear that this happened to you and there is do doubt that you are not the only that this happened to.
I do not see COMC being the type of site where 2fa is often necessary, but if COMC feels like that, there should have at least been a warning or an offer to change our email instead of being sprung on us out of where.
I was hoping that this at least meant only needing to log in once a day, that would make it tolerable, but nope, still pretty much every time you get off the page.
It's like someone there took a community college course on online security, imagined themselves to be more qualified than they are and went Barney Fife on everyone by implementing this. This is much worse than the recaptchas.
