Even more surprising that people are dumping for flat prices in the middle of a MVP campaign. Are they selling to buy Elly thinking he'll be better? Is all the money going to Ohtani? Just trying to understand.
I think there's primarily 3 things...

1. Any extra money right now is going to Ohtani & other sports. Most baseball investors have dumped their pre-season/early in the season investments by now.

2. Guys that are paying the really stupid money for cards, are investors. They couldn't care less what the player does 2 years much less 5-10 years from now. They preach that when trying to sell the story of the player and the card...but they don't care. They are looking to buy, pump, sell during a hot streak or major hype time of the year.

3. There's only so many actual collectors dollars to go around. Guys are spread thin in today's world of a ton of releases.
