Why is it relevant that Clearlake has bigger investors? Saudi PIF is still investing billions with them.
Are you suggesting that investment managers looking to recruit billion dollar investments don't go to lengths to entice potential investors, including making introductions, facilitating mutually beneficial business deals, and generally trying to make their investors happy? Clearlake isn't disadvantaging its other investors by facilitating a deal b/n Saudi PIF and Chelsea.
The Saudis want to infiltrate the European soccer market as much as possible, and it is not a coincidence that they have invested billions of dollars with a PE firm that recently acquired a majority stake in Chelsea and now has also acquired a stake in Strasbourg.
I don't know how the connection can be more apparent. It is clear as day what is happening.
