This may or may not be true, but the overall market may be affecting Ohtani's cards from going much higher this year. I currently collect Ohtani, Tatis, Soto, Acuna Jr., Vladdy Jr., Franco and Julio Rodriguez. Acuna Jr. and Franco are having amazing years so far and their markets have barely budged, especially Franco (though that may reflect more the sheer abundance of cards he has). In this current market only Ohtani cards have gone up significantly from last year. I also get the impression a lot of Ohtani cards that are bought are staying in collectors collections for the long term, so in the future (assuming Ohtani does Ohtani things) there should be more demand, but less supply putting pressure on Ohtani cards to rise in the future. So I do agree todays prices may seem like bargains in a few years from now, especially if the market and economy are doing better.
