I still have to go back to check out a lot of these YouTube links, nostalgia overload is an understatement.

Also, bit of an aside…. But I was surprised to learn recently that starting with the 98-99 set, Arena Design no longer had anything to do with Flair Showcase. I always assumed they designed each and every Fleer/Skybox set from the entire decade, but apparently there were other designers sprinkled in throughout the years, in various sets.

Would really love to know who those other designers were. Not that they aren’t deserving, they really are, but all we ever hear about is Jean and Earl of Arena Design.

Anyone have insight into who some of the other design teams were?
Thanks bro, much appreciated.

That's a tough three players to pick and may not be who you're expecting. At quick glance, I wanted to say 19_Grant Hill, 22_Clyde Drexler, 23_Michael Jordan. Again, quick glance, but there are elements to the cards that are harmonious to me and also for the Drexler Row 0, there is so much color and so much going on in the background. For the Hill, you've got that teal colored jersey in the foreground and in the Row 0 and Row 1 you have this golden honey color that compliments it exquisitely. Finally, the MJ has great action photos and his Row 2 is also outstanding. Also, check out the super clear TARGET ad in the Drexler one, there are also ads in the Jordan Row 1 photo...love stuff like that, really takes me back. Even though TARGET is still around, sometimes you get older logos / ads, or regional companies, or something logos for defunct companies.

Runners up would be a long list, but the Penny Row 0 will always be the most special to me since that exact card was pulled by me eons ago.

I had no idea there were others at Fleer, but it's interesting to find out that 98/99 was not one of their designs. If I had a linkedin account I'd check on there, someone's got to have Fleer in their work history.
