Default Dallas Card Show- Recap

I want to start with this statement:

If there was ever ANY doubt that this show is a clear, CLEAR #2 show (after the National), that doubt is gone.

I don't know when this show started, but man, this is an AWESOME show! I don't even know what to say. This show has everything you would ever want in a show...vintage, modern, graded, raw, bargains bins, BGS doing RCR/take home, FOUR separate rooms filled with dealers, and the list goes on! Wow!

This is my 4th I think (I lost count!) Dallas show and everything has been bangin'

Here is the recap:

* Friday was pretty light in traffic. I actually did not buy anything (just didn't see anything that I liked card/price wise).

* Today was the complete opposite. The bargain bins were amazing...filled with goodies.

* Today was FREAKING COLD!!!!

* The crowd was light in the morning (that's when I did most of my bargain bin damage), but picked up throughout the day. It was crowded, but never overwhelming.

* Overheard someone say that this could be a super-spreader event! lol!

* I noticed that there were lots of dealers who bought out collections, and are setting up for the first time looking to unload them with $1, $5, $10 boxes. They were making good money! They were happy!

* A few people rolling around carts filled with their retail stuff trying to unload.

* Kids were everywhere; kids trying to make deals; just kids learning the hobby. Very cool to see!

* As for the bargain bins, you gotta make the effort to take the time to look at them. MOST are junk, but man, if you find a dealer willing to unload and you find some goodies, that's the best combination. These dealers are ready to make deals and I love it!

* At least 3 TV's going rolling as people were watching the Raiders/Bengals game and cheering! Great atmosphere!

My favorite bargain bin pickup was a T-Mac 1998 Skybox Molten Metal Fusion for $3! I checked the card out and it looks mint+! Could be gem!

In total, I spent $232 and the ebay value for these cards are probably around $700ish? Could be more as I will sending some of them to PSA. These cards ARE worth the Regular rate of $100!

Anyway, that's all from me. Heading down to Austin and San Antonio for the rest of the weekend + holiday Monday.

Another great experience!
