I’ve had a few instances where it becomes clear that eBay is being used as a short term loan service. I don’t see the issue with leaving a negative there. But usually that is after many unsatisfactory responses from the seller. And invariably I am not the first to leave a similar negative review.

There are plenty of sellers like the one OP dealt with... minimal feedback, poor or no communication, or may not even ship the item at all. They treat ebay as a joke and are the reason why protection policies are now so heavily skewed against sellers. Only corporate sellers matter these days and no wonder. They pull in big sales and don't cause any trouble. Unfortunately everyone else gets lumped in with the riff raff.
