Please don’t spread this BS. I’m a pulmonary and ICU doctor. Masks definitely do help prevent spread of infection. Vaccinated people still wear masks because they are SMART unlike these ignorant unvaccinated people. Yes, you can still get COVID even if you are vaccinated, but masks go a long way of reducing risk of infection. In addition, being vaccinated dramatically reduces the severity of disease if you happen to get infected. EVERY single patient in my ICU at a large academic center the past few months were all unvaccinated! And most of these patients are extremely sick on full ventilatory and sometimes ECMO support. Do you think that’s just a coincidence? I’ve lost all empathy for these unvaccinated covid patients as they are a huge unnecessary burden to our health care resources.
If you hate wearing a mask, wait until you end up on a ventilator.
