There's a reason his fg% went up 10% vs when he was 7 years older than his MVP season. Hand-checking [putting two hands on the dribbler to stop his penetration] was now illegal. AI was no longer in his prime at 32 even though he avg'd 26.5ppg that year.

Using the same 10% FG improvement he'd have averaged 35ppg from 2000-02, before an add'tl improvement for being 7 years younger /in his prime.

With more fouling being called he'd also have averaged more than 10 FTs/game he got his MVP season, for instance the year before to year after hand-checking was outlawed his FTs went up over 20% per game.

That's easily 40ppg+ seasons on those 76ers teams. Add in more space under the basket he could perhaps do 45-50, & given faster pace of play today than in 2000 - 10% more shots per game now. Just using factual data and applying it to his stats you get 45.6 ppg before the benefit of spacing.

I do agree Iverson would try to score 50. Whether he would or not is another question.
