I'll overlook that broad paintbrush you're using with "People there can't do anything right" line and would love to know how you came by that, but that's for another thread.
If we're going to get into a discussion about minimum wage vs living wage, then it goes beyond the issues at COMC...at $15/hr, an individual can't afford the average rent in the greater Seattle area, let alone live a decent life. And since there are so many tech companies here (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc, etc) who offer jobs that pay much better than $15/hr, why would someone sell themselves short?
And, as has been said here many times before (even by me a few times) - when you offer peanuts, you get squirrels. It's also been said that when someone offers you minimum wage, they're really saying "I want to pay you less, but by law, I have to give you this much."
