depending on your age, you grew up collecting physical things.

we, as a society, got away from that, probably 20 or so years ago...

music? buy a CD or a Record? are you crazy? i will just download it. that will not take up space, and will allow me to have it with me at anytime. (nevermind the stealing debate)

Cell Phone? Yea, i have one, check it out, its SO TINY!

notice how we went from having HUGE cell phones, to the smallest phone possible, and now back to the humongous smart phones?

the people of wealth are not impressed by others wealth. they acquire more wealth, no problem

they are however, impressed with THINGS

Like i was saying earlier i think a lot of it has been to do with social media and influencers. I don't even think we're close to influencers peaking yet it's just getting started. Look at some of the youtubers they have 10's of millions of followers. All it takes is a couple guys like that on youtube, instagram whatever to collect cards and it is a big boost to the hobby. People can hate on Gary V or Gucci boy Vegas Dave, i know they can be annoying but they've been a huge boom for the hobby. They're influencers, they've had a big impact there's no denying it imo. And there will be more to come.
