I didn't want him to be home on labor day weekend, doing his time card, and seeing an e-mail from a stranger that he was furloughed and wouldn't be coming back to work on Tuesday. Sucks when you have to do that to a good employee knowing you probably won't have him around anymore as he will probably go out and get another job.
We'll see tomorrow if this new guy can make a decision on anything.  We will also be short 3 days f funding on another delivery order and instead of having everyone take 3 days of leave throughout the month, he wants to immediately cut one of of subcontractors so we have no system administration ability on a critical system half of the month each month until we end this Blue/Gold COVID stuff.
