A perfect example of someone for whom a move to a bigger club didn't work out is Christian Bale. He was a star at Tottenham and on of the best players in the EPL, but has become an afterthought at Real Madrid.
Ousama Dembele has struggled at Barcelona after being a star for Dortmund. James Rodriguez never lived up to his hype at Real Madrid.
Lots of players struggle mightily when moving to a bigger club and higher level of competition, and many never get the playing time needed to live up to their previous hype.
I wouldn't touch Mpabbe cards with a 10-foot pole at these prices...he's never played outside of Ligue 1, which is basically a second tier league compared to the EPL or La Liga.

I was talking about the immediate effect of a player transferring and how that correlates to card value as I said in the following sentence that you did not quote. If Sancho transferred to ManU it would cause an immediate boom in his card prices imo much like Mbappe if he transferred to a bigger club like Real. My point was watching the transfer market is a good idea but of course they have to perform well once they are there.
I would agree though Christian Bale did not work out well at RM even though I liked him in Batman

Gareth Bale though was a huge success there in my opinion as a fan of the team. His problem was two fold. He played in the shadow of CR7 and he was on a national team that wasn't a contender in Wales.
But yes, watch splashing money on players just because they make a big transfer is good advice and James is probably one of the best examples of that. I wasn't collecting then but I heard people went in big on him and we all know how that worked out.
