Not looking to be crass or really even cynical, I genuinely want to hear some opinions:
What’s the dividing line on Corona deaths that the parties will need to be able to spin this as a positive for them heading into November?
The Blue team is saying this is an apocalyptic threat and Trump has done basically everything wrong. The Red team is saying they have things under control.
If the regular flu kills about 50,000 Americans a year, what’s the morbidly magic number for Coronavirus?
I’m thinking it’s somewhere between 10k—20k and leaning towards 10k. I think that if we haven’t hit 10k deaths, then Red team will be able to capitalize on pointing out the theatrics of the Blue team. I think if we crack 10k that people won’t be thinking rationally enough to compare this to the regular flu and they’ll agree with the Blue team’s narrative.
