This post got me thinking - whatever happened to your lawsuit vs card company,?
My brother in law; 41; PhD dropped his car off at our house and I drove him to the airport (JFK) two weeks ago to visit my in-laws in Israel. Smart guy and for context, a glass half empty kind of thinker.
Anyway, not one hour ago (around 6am IST), I got a phone call from him in which he opened with telling me that he's not crazy, he needs me to listen and that he's made the decision not to come back to the United States. He has a cough, and to protect my family, he shouldn't come back. He thinks he has the virus, he thinks the numbers are grossly under-reported and for a variety of reasons, he believes that this is going to be on a scale that the world has never seen.
His words 45 seconds into the call "I've made the decision not to come back to the United States"
He then went on to tell me about all the Asian people on his connecting flight from Poland, how they likely escaped China the only way they could to get to Israel; how he landed the same day the Israeli's from the Diamond Princess cruise ship passengers landed in Israel and they could have gotten him infected ... etc. He then instructed me to begin the process of isolation with my family, stay vigilant and clean out supply stores ASAP before it's too late.
I was listening to Pappa Don't Preach; knocking out some work and now all of a sudden, I'm kinda shook. Not because of anything coronavirus related but because this crazy guy is eventually gonna come back and I have to have him around my kids.
I've never spoken to anyone who was as convinced in anything as he was that this is gonna break out and slaughter the population. Left here 12 days ago a normal guy.
He also insisted I not talk to his parents because they're not listening and they're worried he's just spreading panic.
