But here's the rub. If this had happened say 20 years ago, nobody would have taken video; no one would have taken pictures and the people that were there would likely have one hell of a story to tell, but the guy who committed the assault would likely never have been found.

I don't think we can un-ring the bell so when someone does something really awful in public, there's a good chance he/she will be outed on the internet in front of millions of people. But would you rather have the guy found and arrested and shamed as he is/was; or for him to get away with it?

I certainly understand your point about "too far" and how the public is the one that judges who and who should not be doxxed but I'm actually OK with people's live being shaken up a little bit for behavior like this. I've yet to find an true example of someone who's life was ruined because of the mob, and not because of their own actions.

It is my legal right to freely profit from the notoriety of people who are actively suffering and possibly even dying and for a few hundred dollars I will gladly seek to maximize those profits.
