I see the point you are trying to make. The problem I have with it is people adapt, progress or discoveries are made, long term studies of effectiveness are completed and any of these things can help shape a person's view. If we ask people to hold an original belief, there would still be rampant racism (worse than right now), etc. Think of how much things change in our lives like medical and social advancements, parenting, elderly care, etc. It's constantly being adapted to our current situation. Parenting today is vastly different than when my parents raised me though it still has some of the same foundations.
