Question about the coating on the acetate cards of 99-00 UD Visionary Gretzky inserts

I know not all but MOST acetate cards come with a protective film, simply because of the sensitive material the card is made from.

I have the 1999-00 Upper Deck Wayne Gretzky Hockey insert cards...
