SKETCH CARDS AND PRINTING PLATES Sketch Cards Sketch cards by Topps artists Printing Plates Autographed Printing Plates Here's hoping that we get a Quad of Han, Chewie, Rey, and Finn. That'd be a $5k card at least! What we'll probably get is R2, C-3P0, Ackbar, and Nien Numb :p I'm also curious since Topps said the 100 card base set will only have story cards, if they'll reuse some from Series 1 but with actual still instead of illustrations, or if it'll continue as cards 101-200. Also, it's a little sad we aren't able to get another costume/prop relic for this Series, but at least there's less medallions. |
so same boring design as series one ? and wheres the stickers ? gotta love the retro looking stickers

I actually quite liked the design, do you mean Journey was boring? |
no I like journey, love the heritage look . but the force awakens series one is very bland. almost full bleed. I like borders. I may get a box. but that's it , there amost 200 a box why ????

Does anybody get annoyed when you have a series 2 set and the parallels are different? If you are a foil or gold collector, you can get them in series 2, but not series 1. Crypto did the same thing with the Hobbit sets. Smaug has a foil parallel, the first does not.
I am all for changing things up, but do it when there is a natural cut off point in sets. Could just be my collector OCD kicking in. |

I was curious about this myself. But technically they would need to be 104-204 as Target released three promo cards that were numbered 101, 102, and 103 instead of the typical P1, P2, etc. |

Picture change on those or a huge price drop..... |

huh? what are you saying? |
huh? what are you saying?
I *think* what he's saying is that the cards numbered 101-103 that come in Series 2 will need to have a different/modified picture than the 101-103 cards from Target, or the cards from Target will dramatically drop in price. In other words, if you can't differentiate them from the mass set, they won't hold their value. |

Same happened with Galactic Files ... if you bought the Print Plate box you got a bonus set of cards that were sequentially numbered to add on to the end of the first set. Those sold well ... until GF2 came along, and the first cards in that set were the same characters / numbers as the "bonus" set. There were minor differences in the cards, but it really made them much less valuable / worth having. |
I wish I knew more about Series 2, because I cannot get myself to pay current presale prices, when I have no idea of the checklist and production of this product.
I mean if FA1 had the number of boxes we originally thought, the price would be nearly half what it is today. |
cant believe topps screwed this up. I cant see them messing up again. im sure there will be plenty for everyone for series 2.
|
Who has this up for presale?
|
There are a few sites, but they want like $150 a box.
I would rather buy series 1 for slightly more knowing what you can get and the odds. |

Even if the images were the same, the Target cards still did not have foil printing making them different from the pack inserted cards. |

I just can't see Topps starting a set off with those 3 characters so my guess is that numbering will start over and there should be more story cards since all we got in series one were scenes from the trailers. I wouldn't be surprised if the Target images do not make it into series 2 at all. |
Anyone know of any sites that still have cases of TFA series 2 still available?

I don't think it's a matter of still available so much as waiting to find out allocations. Too many sites honor pre-orders and would lose big if cut again by TOPPS. |

+1 to all of this. All distributors are in "wait-and-see-mode" with this stuff. |
I would not pay current prices even if sites are offering series 2.
I am betting that series 2 will not be as limited as series 1. Of course I have been wrong before and will be wrong again! |
Oh come on, admit, you've only been wrong once before, and it was that time you thought you were wrong, but you were really right :D
