Topps offered the first details and images for the throwback product readying for its 16th season a year that will look back at 1967. Set to arrive on March 2, it will include one autograph or Relic in every 24-pack hobby box and 12 boxes per hobby case. Basic set and parallels The model here is the same as recent years with a 425-card base set capped by 75 short-printed cards. There will be three types of variations to chase in the set Throwback uniforms, Action Images and Team Name Color Swaps just like in recent years as well with each of them using the simple 1967 Topps design. The basic set will have red-back parallels for all 500 cards as well as mini cards numbered to 100 copies for 100 cards and a Chrome version for 100 cards. Those will have a Refractor (/567), Black (/67) and Gold (/5) version, while there also will be Hot Box Refractors only found in Hot Boxes. A preliminary checklist was not released. Autographs The model for autographs in 2015 Topps Heritage is the same as in past years with Real One autos of active and retired players to be found along with a Red version limited to 67 copies. There also will be dual and triple autos limited to 25 and five, while Clubhouse Collection Relics and Flashback Relics also will have autographed versions. Those will be limited to 25 for standard cards and then the duals will be limited to 10. Also to be found will be 1/1 cut autos for celebrities as well as notable baseball names from 1967. Inserts No surprises in the lineup here. There will be New Age Performers, Then & Now, Baseball Flashbacks and News Flashbacks all looking back to 1967. Box-toppers will include 1967 ad panels, 1967 Topps buybacks that are foil stamped and 1967 Topps Posters that will be in the style of those past cards. These will be limited to only 50 copies with an autographed version limited to only 10. Also back will be punch-out cards this time for 1967 with jumbo patch, autographed and signed patch versions. There will be just 25 of the Relics and only 10 copies per card on the autographs. Memorabilia The formula here also remains the same with Clubhouse Collection Relics for current and past players. Those will have a Gold parallel limited to 99, while the Dual Relics will be limited to 67, Triples will be limited to 25 and Quads will be limited to 10. Also back will be Mint coin Relics and stamp Relics. The stamps will be limited to just 50 copies per card, while the coins will vary by denomination nickel (/15), dime (/10), quarter (/5) and 50-cent-piece being a 1/1. 2016 Topps Heritage at a glance Packs per hobby box: 24 Cards per pack: 9 Set size: 500 Release date: March 2, 2016 What to expect in a hobby box Autographs or Relics 1 Inserts TBD |

I'm in the minority, but I love the '67 design. It's probably since the Brooks from the set is such an iconic card.
|
Since I have vowed to cut back on purchases of sets, I'll probably only pick up a Yankees team set of this. It didn't make my Top 6 set keep list.

This, Archives, and A&G are sets I am cutting back on this year and will likely just pick up a Dodgers team set. They are awful for resale value, it's pointless to spend $100 on a box when the best card you'll pull is maybe worth $5. No thanks. |
Love the 1967 design....that Ryan auto will be popular if it actually makes it into the checklist....
|
Great looking cards...love heritage!
|
might be the first case I crack in more than a year.
|
Best Topps product in my opinion.

Anyone else here wish they'd make a new set with the '52 design? As far as I know the last full set on the '52 design was back in 2007. Or even better, a Bowman set with the '51 design? 2005 Bowman Heritage was magnifique.
Let's make it happen Jaypers! ;) EDIT: I do like this '67 design. Very clean and simple. |
Love it. This was my dad's favorite set as a kid and has subsequently become my favorite vintage set. Just need a seaver and a handful of high numbers for a complete set. Been on the back burner for a bit. This might move it up on my priority list a bit.

I wonder if they will SSP some high numbers like the real '67 set???

Weren't the SSP just a myth? I thought some publication opened a bunch of this, and they didn't pull a single Brooks Robinson. Since then, it's been determined that it's not all that rare, or so I believe that I read somewhere. |

I usually am in on heritage for $60-65 a box. That being said, the average box should net you 8 SPs and an action and chrome. Being conservative on release you should be able to get $3 each on the SPs, $5 on the action, and $2 on the chrome. That's $31 without anything else being considered. Hard to find a guaranteed 50+% value on your box before you open it. |

I want them to repeat a design they did not only 10 years ago, but 60 years ago too! New players, new checklist. Look at how many times they did Topps '52 and I'm still begging for more! :) |

3 dollars per sp? You are dreaming. Case rippers will have these cards selling for nothing a day after release. |

$3 average for about a week after release, yes. this past year, a lot of the stars were SP so that worked in the pricing's favor. I've done the set for years and $3 an SP is what I had been paying for about a week after. Just from personal experience. |

Some sell higher, some lower, but that's probably a good estimate after a week. |

If you check ebay, you'll find that some of the high numbers sell for a significant premium over the other. |

The Brooks still sells for $200, so yes, but I think that it's false scarcity. |
Yay, info on another set I will start but probably not finish until 3 years later due to the SP's (no, seriously, I just finished my 2013 Heritage set this week).
Still need a bunch of SP's for '14 and '15. Maybe next year I can start '16 and finish '14. |
I like those mint coin cards.
|
I like the design, and how with Heritage you know what you are going to get. Normally its a scrub gu relic some sp's and possibly a variation. I think the coins are used to much though.
|
What do you all think of the $60.95 hobby box price currently at Blowout? I haven't tracked how Heritage has done the last few years, but these boxes used to start in the high 60s. They seem to have come down slightly each year lately. I see some 2015 hobby boxes sold for as low as $45 on ebay in December.
