Attempting a rainbow

Honest question .. I'm attempting the 2013 prizm Andrew luck rainbow .. How hard is it to complete a rainbow? I know I've seen a few people do it and I know it's not his rookie year so it should be easier .. I have started it and I have the auto for it which are numbered to /10 but does anyone have any advice to help me complete this project .. Any help as in does anyone know if someone has these in a bulk lot? Any help would be appreciated:) I know the finite is going to be the hardest to get

Is the Super 1/1 important to you to have a "true" rainbow?

If so, I'd find a player/year/set where you can obtain that card first, and work from there. Otherwise you may spend a lot of time/money/effort only to find that the 1/1 you need is buried in someone's collection.

Very true! Always get the super before attempting to start a rainbow. I tried starting 3 of them without the super, very tough! Snag the 1/1 and go backwards from there. Good luck OP:)

Ya very true .. Ive been looking for most of them and have found a lot on eBay but I'd like to purchase a lot of them instead of individual cards but I couldn't help myself so I bought 3 more last night no I pulled the brilliance green last night .. But u are right I should seek out the finite first .. I know they are tough to do but cost wise I'm not to worried about it since I know the auto besides the finite is equally hard to get .. Haven't seen another auto anywhere besides the one I have .. Guess I can start buying boxes and hope for the best lol

Did u ever complete the ones that u attempted? Thanks for the post by the way

Good luck (no pun intended) on the rainbow! Also nice on pulling the green brilliance! The greens in general were by far the hardest retail parallels to find. It would be hard to track down some of the parallels now though, as 2013 Prizm was a total dud and nobody is opening it now. I know Coventry does these Luck sets every year, so maybe he has a few extras?

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the Prizm 1/1. Maybe it's been pulled, I don't know, but there's a good chance that it hasn't even surfaced yet. They made 2013 finites obtainable from both retail and hobby, so a random kid could've walked into Target and grabbed a blaster and have it in his bicycle spoke as we speak. Coventry would know if it has or hasn't surfaced.

Hahaha I like the spokes comment but that terrifyies me in a way also .. Ya I was pretty stoked to see it show up from a $20 random packs box from walmart .. I got the auto the same way from target in one of their assorted $20 boxes but ya I'd be glad to talk to the guy u meantioned and hope he still has a few of them .. Thanks for the support

no, not fully. I was very close with the 2013 chrome chris Johnson rainbow. just needed the super:( never found it, got rid of the rainbow after that.

That's no good, sorry to hear that .. I found the finite 1/1 on eBay that just sold recently so I contacted the seller in hopes that he would contact the buyer with my interest and he relayed the message so I'm hoping that the buyer would be willing to sell it.. At least he responded nicely and didn't have a problem sending the message to the buyer .. Hope he will part with it .. Now I just need to find the finite auto which I'm guessing hasn't been pulled .. I've ordered a case of 2013 prizm in hopes of finding a few more I need lol and I just saw on the box breaks that someone is going to bust a case of it tonight so I'm hoping good things to come .. I know it's not the best product but I do like these cards mainly the lucks lol

Good luck with your searching

Rainbows are a pain to try and accomplish, but look amazing once they get done

Thanks .. It's the first one if attempted so will see how well I fair on it .. I'm ready for the hassle tho

bojesphob 02-12-2015 08:22 PM

I just completed my first rainbow that has the 1/1 in it (2014 Jordy Nelson triple threads) but have around 8 that don't have the 1/1 for and won't probably ever see them. I consider them non 1/1rainbows. Some people wouldn't consider it compete, and they're not, but they are the most complete I'll ever get them. I've got some pretty deep pocketed competitors for his stuff and unless I get lucky and the seller has a reasonable bin I probably won't get it.

DalliLlama11 02-12-2015 08:31 PM

Id say go for the 1/1 and then from there, but I personally don't care too much if I have the 1/1 for the rainbow. I've seen the Roddy super this year, and Julio last year for chrome and let them go. Paying $150 imo is just too much for a non-rookie-non-auto 1/1. But then again, the price for some guys is just insane so maybe you are used to it considering some basic "low-end" luck fetch more than that). Even so, I think my 2013 Chrome Julio, 2014 Chrome Roddy, and my 2013 Prizm Marquise Goodwin and Dwyane Wade Rainbows look very nice. Just seeing 10-15 different colors in an assortment is awesome and cool, adding the 1/1 would be nice, but not essential.

Shadien 02-12-2015 09:10 PM

Ya the 1/1 went for 240 for this Andrew luck year and I really doubt the owner of that card will give it up but who knows for the right price .. I'd be happy if it were fully complete but it's going to take some time to track down the gold out of this set .. Everything else I think I've at least seen and there's a few of the ones I need on eBay bin so I'm in luck on those .. The reason I want the prizm is for the color .. Although not the greatest set of cards I like how tough the cards are in the make wise and they tend to have a lot more color then most sets .. Hoping that it all comes together .. I only just started on it so it seems like it will take an eternity but I think after a month of work I will be pretty close .. Doesn't hurt that my taxes came in so the pockets are lined a tad to go after this feat .. I think it's freaking sweet to see people's rainbows when they are complete and I'm not after his rookie year which would cost my child or at least sending him to a coal mine to pay for it lol

True but what's nice is the product I'm shooting for isn't an arm and a leg to buy so I can at least get cases of it for cheap lol

Anthony Mccoy he has one card that spells out SEA in jerseys and another that says R*C I have the 99, 70, 50, 25, and 10 versions of each one.. then there is a 1/1 platinum, 1/1 pigskin, and 4 1/1 plats for each.. so 12 1/1s I have 7 so far and know someone who owns another
