Blowout's Football "Promo" is a Scam to an extent
 

Was interested in the promo at first, figuring should be a fun thing to join into. Added up the numbers and realized the complete opposite.

This isn't a promotion at all. This is a way for blowout to make an extra 15%-20% margin on your purchase...The total cost of ALL boxes in the blowout store currently is $9,932. They collect a total of $19,195. A difference of $9,263. Season awards are $3500 and based on last year's record and we'll add 2 more just for kicks means they give out $6000. Leaving $3263 left. Take off couple hundred for shipping costs and your left with a cool $3000 of PURE EXTRA PROFIT. Kind of a scam if you ask me to call it a PROMOTION.

Call it a contest, anything but a promotion. A promotion signifies savings and this DOESNT offer any such savings.

Price should be no more then $179.95 a spot and I would actually have joined for a spot for 1 at that price but $200? Just increasing margins.

If you really wanted to make a point you would include that the 6,000 given back from gift cards will be used to buy boxes and everything else on BO

Even with that its fun to follow a team and a player the whole season... And u get a box altho it wont be $200

Its a fun promo every year and dont join if you dont want...
They filled up 4 last year so clearly many peole loved it...

Forgot Blowout makes about 5-15% margin already so really its more like $4000-$5000 of pure profit for this AWESOME PROMOTION!

I am sure it costs nothing for the employees to have to track and monitor all of the events to make sure there is a legitimate winner.

I was actually REALLY interested in the promo and figured lets add up all the costs. When I calculated the actual amounts it stunned me and it really bothered me that they called this a promotion when its the complete opposite. Promotions save customers money, this does the opposite.

I'm not anti-capitalism, I'm actually a financial advisor in real life. Graduated from UMD in 2012. What I am anti is when businesses lie to their customers. All businesses should make money but they shouldn't do it in a way that is shady and I think this is very shady. Making this "promo" sound fun and all when all they're really doing is doubling their margins. Shady.

A SALE saves customers money. A promotion is something you bring forward or showcase. It does not mean a sale. Now go away and quit being dumb.

There is nothing in the word promotion that states or even implies saving money. The root word would be promote which seems to be what they are doing. You are actually helping them promote by making threads and keeping it on people's minds... God forbid a company promote themselves.
